Dairy Farmers of America Packaging Operator in Adrian, Michigan

General Purpose:Operate packaging equipment efficiently to minimize product loss and downtime. Job Duties and Responsibilities: Operate and monitor packaging equipment. Notify team leader of any irregularities in the equipment or product Perform product quality control sampling, ensure accurate coding of sample bags, and transport product samples for testing Ensure accurate coding and labeling of product totes and bags Maintain accurate and orderly production logs Monitor critical quality control points (CQCP) critical control points (CCP). Initiate corrective action when non-conformances occur in either a CQCP or CCP Perform metal detector and in-line magnet inspections, as required Assist in transportation of finished product pallets to warehouse Ensure adequate supply of totes, bags, slip sheets, and pallets necessary to keep lines running smoothly Perform daily forklift safety checks before operating forklift and inform team leader of any machine defects. Operate forklift in a safe manner Perform cleaning procedures within packaging area as necessary. Assist in manual cleaning of dryer system, as required. Perform limited maintenance as required Maintain clean and organized work area at all times, including completion of master sanitation schedule tasks Minimize water usage and wastewater generation within job scope Assist in training and development of new operators Dedicate effort to safety as we expect every employee to leave work in the same condition as they arrive Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements.
