The Gas Control Planner Scheduler position is eligible for remote work or can be based in any of our Michigan locations.


The Gas Control Planner Scheduler is responsible for the Gas Control Outage Schedule.

  • Organize, implement and maintain scheduling management system supporting identified projects and their plans.

  • Log project timelines and maintain P6 database of tasks and its status. Log all new information into P6 database and provide scheduled reports for contract coordination and reporting purposes.

  • Interact with project staff & project stakeholders to schedule work and coordinate assignments. Design and develop project schedules. Interact with project teams and contractors to define scope of work to develop and update detailed schedules and identification of variances from original plan.

  • Evaluate project schedule progress and performance and identify developing problem areas.

  • Assist project team to develop and maintain periodic status reports to keep management informed on project progress.

  • Develop and update weekly schedule working with superintendents and field engineers and project managers.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in a scientific/technical field plus two (2) years of work experience to include project management, OR no degree and ten (10) years of related work experience.


  • Must be able to interact and communicate effectively with project team members and stakeholders in order to receive and produce schedule information.

  • Must be able to participate fully in all project and department meetings and discussions effectively.

  • Must understand how to operate in a P6 environment including knowledge in layouts, activity codes, resources, group & sort and reporting.

  • Must have Project Management software experience (Primavera preferred)

  • Must understand Project Management principles

  • Must understand Change Management principles


  • This role is typically a 40 hour per week role. Flexibility in schedule, which may include evenings, weekends, holidays and overtime may be required to support customer requirements.

  • Travel up to 10% of time with occasional overnight travel, depending on assignment and/or training needs.
