Kelly Services Electrical Maintenance Technician in Alma, Michigan

Kelly Engineering Resources has an exciting direct-hire opportunity for an Electrical Maintenance Technician in Alma, MI!

The Electrical Maintenance Technician is responsible for all phases and aspects of the industrial electrical processes and related support systems. This includes design, specification, installation, maintenance recommendations and training for industrial electrical systems. This is a direct-hire, full-time opportunity on 3rd shift.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Inspect electrical components, such as transformers and circuit breakers.

  • Identify electrical problems with a variety of testing devices.

  • Participation in the quoting, engineering, electrical design, programming, installation, commissioning and on-going support of machinery, automation systems and processes.

  • Direct and train workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring or equipment

  • Prepares and presents reports for management on projects, costs and improvements.

  • Perform expert level maintenance functions.

  • Design, order, build and prove-out cells and individual projects including wiring, programming and wiring diagrams.

  • Repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand tools and power tools.

  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections, making necessary repairs and complete documentation of preventative maintenance inspection sheets per machine.

  • Troubleshoot and repair automated equipment such as FANUC & ABB robots.

  • Actively supports Safety program through participation in safety huddles, investigative safety teams, conducting safety audits and implementing correction actions and by following safety procedures and 5s standards.

  • Involvement in departmental projects to offer input and advice that will help to meet business plan objectives.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of apprentice level electrician

  • Journeyman or Master electrician highly preferred**

  • Full familiarity with computer programs such as Auto-Cad, Microsoft Office, etc.

  • Full familiarity with AB PLC series and higher machine control logic and language and is able to design, write and troubleshoot same.

  • Familiarity with high pressure die-casting processes, CNC machining operations and associated machinery.

  • Basic S.L.C. 500 PLC programming, ABB & Fanuc Robot programming

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems and their components; understand electrical schematics, understand and write machine (Allen Bradley) ladder logic; understand electronics to component level
