This position is responsible for leading the production planning team to effectively create and maintain an efficient production schedule that meets customer requirements while minimizing cycle times and effectively utilizing inventory. The Manager, Production Planning works collaboratively and cross-functionally with production, engineering, and quality to determine short and long-term goals/projects and ensure that business objectives are met in conjunction with maintaining quality and safety.
In all actions, demonstrates a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures.
Oversees and mentors the Production Planning Team to ensure a high level of proficiency and development.
Manage Master Production Schedule while maintaining targeted inventory levels.
Ensure a consistent handoff of planning information to Production, Manufacturing, Engineering etc. via the Production Planner/Buyers.
Maintain valid capacity requirements plan that support the Master Plan Schedule.
Proactively anticipate, identify and manage bottlenecks and capacity issues in conjunction with the Production Management Team and coordinate internally and externally the resolution of the issues.
Establish and monitor ERP system parameters, including safety stock levels for finished goods and raw material inventories.
Liaise with Production, Manufacturing, Engineering etc. to achieve on time delivery at optimum costs with optimum inventory levels.
Provide guidance and expertise to develop plant team knowledge relative to plant schedule optimization.
Create, develop, and maintain weekly/monthly reports and KPI’s.
Utilizes the systems and processes in place to attract, develop, engage, train, and retain talented Associates; creating a work environment where Associates can realize their full potential, thus allowing the organization to meet business needs.
Perform other duties as assigned.
