GP Strategies has an immediate need for a Robotics Instructor to work onsite at our client site in Auburn Hills, MI. This is a full-time, benefitted position. For this role, training will be conducted on the client site in Auburn Hills and various plants in the Michigan area and throughout the U.S. Candidates will need to travel approximately 50% for this role.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide development and training services in an automotive manufacturing environment for our customer's skilled trades teams. Training delivery includes stand-up classroom training with hands-on activities and structured on the job training on the manufacturing plant floor. Candidate will support plant floor activities such as Launch Support, Fast Response and other quality initiatives. This work requires travel to customer locations and assignments that may vary as to work hours.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience programming or troubleshooting controls/robots in a manufacturing environment

  • Associates Degree or equivalent years of experience

  • Proven technical training or presentations experience

  • Automotive plant floor manufacturing experience

  • Customer service skills and/or experience demonstrating product to customers

  • Technical writing skills or experience writing/developing maintenance procedures

  • Willingness to travel 50% to various plants locally and across US/Canada

  • Fanuc, ABB and Comau Robot experience is a plus

  • AB or Simens controls experience a plus

  • Previous training experience is a plus

  • Knowledge of PLC programming and troubleshooting preferred

Physical requirements of the job include walking and standing for extended periods, bending, squatting, twisting and moving equipment trainers weighing up to 60 lbs. Training activities take place in automotive assembly, powertrain and stamping plants.

Required Travel: 50%
