CNC Mill Operator - 2nd or 3rd Shift uJob Summary/u Set up and operate multi-axis milling machine to mill surfaces of steel work pieces by performing the essential job functions. uEssential Job Functions/u liRead process sheets, blueprints, and sketches of parts to determine machining to be done, dimensional specifications, set up, and operating requirements/li liRetrieve CNC program from DNC computer/li liInsert precision indicator in machine spindle, and depress switches to job spindle into contact with work piece, and synchronize the program and tooling/li liRetract spindle and load and secure first preset tool and holder (indicates tooling)/li liStart machine and observe cutting operation. Operate machine and perform a dry run to indicate if programming is correct/li liAssemble and preset tooling for next operation during automated cycle to reduce machine downtime/li liReplace milling tools with drilling and boring tools at specified change points to reduce or eliminate subsequent machining of work piece on another machine/li liStudy job packet and organize materials for next run during automatic cycles to shorten change over time/li liSet up and operate another machine tool during CNC controlled machining cycles as necessary/li liCommunicate with individuals associated with the production of each job/li liPerform and document specified inspection criteria/li liIdentify and communicate any suspect and/or non-conforming product to the appropriate supervisor/li liComplete any necessary non-conforming product paperwork/li liDeliver non-conforming product to the designated area/li liScan on and off of all jobs ran during shift for costing analysis/li liAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedures, and work instructions/li liPerform necessary machine maintenance at specified intervals/li liAbility to write simple correspondence/li liAbility to speak effectively with others/li liAbility to calculate figures/li liAbility to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry/li liAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables/li liAbility to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form/li liAbility to read and interpret blueprint specifications/li liAbility to use appropriate measuring devices and any equipment associated with job/li /ul uJob Requirements/u liHigh School Diploma or GED/li liMotor coordination, manual finger dexterity/li liIndustrial Truck License/li liOverhead Crane License/li liAbility to read and interpret documents/li liAbility to speak effectively before groups/employees/li liAbility to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals/li liAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations/li liAbility to interpret a variety of instructions (written, oral, diagram, etc)/li liKnowledgeable of CNC and manual machines used to manufacture tooling/li liOrganization skills/li liComputer skills/li /ul Reports To:Mill Supervisor Status:Full Time/Hourly Non-Exempt (40 hours/week; additional hours as needed to support organization an
