Manpower Group Tooling Supervisor in Battle Creek, Michigan
3rd shift Tooling Supervisor
This position will be supervising Tool and Die Makers and is also responsible to help train employees who are working as a Tool and Die Trainee. Previous training of tool and die makers is required and they must have a Journeyman's card through the DOL as a Tool and Die Maker. Transfer/ progressive die experience is also preferred.
Supervise the day to day operations of the Tool and Die Department
Supervise the Die Setters, including approving time, time off requests and developing employees in the Tool and Die Department.
Maintain physical structure of fixtures, equipment, molds and tools.
Clean and lubricate fixtures, equipment, molds and tools.
Dismantle devices to gain access to, remove and replace parts.
Lay out, assemble and install pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
Supervise the routine cleaning, organizing and housekeeping of the Tool and Die Department and storage area.
Assist supervisors as needed with fixtures, equipment, molds and tools.
Troubleshoot machine controls, use standard machine tools such as lathes, saws, mills and drill presses plus any other as required.
Develop process and procedures for every aspect of the Tool and Die department.
Journeyman's card through DOL as a Tool and Die Maker
Transfer/progressive die experience preferred
Must be able to read and write English sufficiently enough to fully understand safety policies, work instructions, chemical warning labels, etc.
Good math skills and mechanical ability.
Good understanding of basic electrical series circuitry
Ability to use rulers, scales, calipers and other physical measuring instruments.
Hydraulic and pneumatic understanding regarding the pressure, force and area relationships
Ability to learn the process for repairing molds quickly
Knowledge of air tools, such as pencil grinders, angle grinders and straight grinders
