- Mechanical inspection and testing of complex components.Testing with complicated and involved apparatus having highly precise and reliable performance standards requiring a broad knowledge of mechanical principles, inspection and testing techniques.
The use of statistical inspection procedures designed to prevent shipment of nonconforming goods.Determine cause and effect and use of corrective measures required to remedy deviations impairing desirable standards of quality.Prepare and maintain necessary quality records and reports.
Mechanical inspection utilizing prescribed methods, techniques and standardized inspection instruments and testing devices to inspect on line machined, coated and/or fabricated parts for tolerances and finish requirements on a diversified line of parts for acceptable standards.
Make decisions as to acceptable quality allowing variations prescribed.Determine reasons for deviations, rejects or malfunctions, and recommend methods of correction.Work from part of assembly drawings using scales, squares, caliper, micrometers, indicators, verniers, optical comparator, microscopes, profilometer and other standard instruments.
Perform inspection on critical components, tools, jigs, fixtures and gauging devices.Inspect and set adjustable inspection instruments and tools to measure accurately and reliably.Perform gage capability, gage reliability, process control and machine capability studies.
Continually improve and monitor quality through product delivery, conformance and performance.
Suggested high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and two to three years related experience or training.
General Inspection using various hand gauges – two years of experience
PCDMIS Programming and operation and experience - two years of experience
MeasureX Optical – one year of experience
