Express Employment Professionals in Howell/Brighton, MI is working with a manufacturer in the Livingston County area to fill a Production / Blending Manager This is a fulltime evaluate to hire, possible direct hire position for the right candidate.Shift flexibility is a plus!!Job Summary:ulliThe lead manager of the production department, the control managers main job is to set the production schedule; hire, manage, and train the supervisors for all shifts./liliIn conjunction with this goes the supervision of the production control office staff that includes clerical personnel as well as an efficiency coordinator./liliThe manager is responsible for evaluating floor efficiencies, staffing levels, and looking to improve all aspects of the production department./liliThe manager also acts as an interface between the sales/customer service department on the expediting of special orders./liliAdditional duties to be assigned and documented through annual performance plan/objectives as planned by management./li/ulESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESulliCreates, monitors, and evaluates production schedule. Establishes priorities for specific customer orders./liliSchedule according to work order specifications, establishes priorities, and availability or capability of workers, parts, machines, and equipment./liliHosts cross-functional meetings that interact with all departments to ensure the production schedule can run as designed. I.e. daily production meetings, purchasing reviews, customer service reviews./liliMonitors and improves efficiencies, effectiveness, productivity of production area from Efficiency Coordinator and supervisor's reports. Use production per person charting as one tool./li/ulSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESulliManages subordinate supervisors who supervise associates in the Production Department. /liliCarries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws./liliResponsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems./liliManages the development of staff members, offers career counseling and feedback, creates an environment conducive to developmental feedback, provides developmental advice and perspective on business, and effectively defines vision of success for subordinates./liliIn addition, leverages technology appropriately and encourages staff to use technology to complete assignments./liliCommunication skills: clearly articulates both big picture and smaller details while using relevant examples and analogies to clarify ideas./li/ulEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEBachelor's degree (B.
