Plant Technician

job summary:

Power Generation client is looking for an Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) Plant Technician to join their plant located near Cadillac, MI. You need 7+ years of relevant I&E experience (with a heavy emphasis on electrical) in some sort of heavy industrial plant (oil & gas, pulp & paper, power, chemical process etc...) environment. Client offers excellent pay, benefits, & 8% performance bonus potential

work hours: 8am to 4pm

education: High School

responsibilities:

  • Your main focus will be to install, troubleshoot, and repair high & low voltage electrical systems, transformers, protective relays, variable frequency drives, and other electrical and electronic control components

  • Diagnose and remediate cause(s) of electrical malfunction or failure on plant equipment

  • Run wire and conduit for newly installed equipment, and complete end terminations

  • Replace faulty wiring and electrical components such as relays, switches, motors, and position sensing devices

  • Assist in the maintenance of DCS, TCS, PLCs and other control systems

  • Assist in the maintenance of CEM System to ensure maximum availability and performance

  • Perform scheduled, unscheduled, and preventative maintenance tasks as assigned by maintenance supervisor
