GNS North America-Canton Production Operators - 2nd Shift-2:10pm-10:30pm in Canton, Michigan

2nd shift, afternoons. Time is 2:10 pm to 10:30 pmPosition Summary:Support production by correct and safe operation of a hot metal stamping press. Essential Responsibilities: Assist in set-up and operate equipment to harden, anneal and heat-treat metal parts.Start the equipment, monitor their operations, and record operational data.Performs first piece inspection and identifies in Plex conformance/non-conformance.Follow production schedules to determine specifications, such as materials to be used, dimensions and tolerances, furnace temperatures and heat cycle requirements.Inspect completed parts to verify conformance to specifications, using micrometers, gauges, calipers, etc.Observe flow and unload/stock parts into containers.Clean and lubricate machines.Correctly identifies and handles non-conforming products.Correctly handles and identifies scrap using Plex during and after production shift.Correctly handles an identifies finished products using Plex.Keep work area clean and well organized in a 5S manner.Comply with all safety programs especially those related to production such as press guarding, lock/out personal protective equipment, fire and electrical safety, and hearing conservation.Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work process, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.May assist in the training of other employees as indicated.Physical Demands: The position is in the factory and involves walking, standing for long periods of time throughout the day. It requires being able to lift up to 50 pounds, and pushull up to 75 pounds. Involves making continuous or repetitive arm-hand movements while operating a press. Stooping/bending/twisting is required on regular basis. Fast-paced environment, usually work standard 40-hour weeks, but overtime may be necessary as work load’s dictate. This may include weekdays, weekends and/or holidays. Work Environments: Work performed in a shop environment and regularly exposed to dust, odors, oil, fumes and noise. It requires wearing personal protective or safety equipment. Requires working in non-air-conditioned variable temperature factory setting. Employees may be subject to random drug and alcohol testing under FAA regulations
