SUMMARY OF POSITIONThe Machinist, CNC is responsible for set up and operation of CNC lathes and mills. The Machinist, CNC reports to the Manager, Operations.SHIFTCHE - Shift 2 (12.5%) (United States of America - Michigan)WHAT YOU WILL DOWith a foundation in:Tool and work offsetsSetup procedures (setup sheets, check sheets and control plans)Operational adjustments, including tool and fixture changesDetermining tooling requirements at set-upUsing edge finders and indicators (finding part zero by finding edge or indicating for location)Measuring skills with optical comparators, manual CMMs, bench comparators, MICS, calipers and gauge pinsMachining terms and knowledgeCartesian coordinatesSupports the manufacturing process through the following activities:Set up and operate CNC machines, including performing tool changes, setting tool and work offsetsPerform setups that are a low to medium level of complexityAdjust machine controls and change tool settings in order to keep dimensions within specified tolerancesLoad correct program to the machine from the S:/ driveMove controls to set cutting speeds and depths, feed rates, and to position tools in relation to work-piecesSelect and properly load the correct fixtures for the job (proper tools, holders, clearances as needed)Set proper holding pressure on vises and colletsPerform in-process inspection of parts to verify conformance with specifications, using instruments such as gauges, micrometers, and dial indicatorsTrain and mentor operatorsSign off and verify CMM scansVerify previous operation documentation is correctSupport quality and compliance by utilizing One Orchid global processes and complying with all Quality Management Systems (QMS) documentationWHAT WE ARE LOOKING FORWORK EXPERIENCE2+ Years of Experience Operating CNC Machines (Required), Experience Setting Up and Operating 3, 4, and 5 Axis Machines (Preferred)EDUCATIONHigh School Or Equivalent Required, , ,CERTIFICATIONSMachining - Trade SchoolKNOWLEDGE & SKILLS THAT ENABLE SUCCESSBlueprint Reading (Working Experience), GD&T (Working Experience), Problem Solving (Working Experience)WHAT WE OFFEROpportunity to work in a growing companyAbility to help people live a longer, more active lifeComprehensive benefit packageAbility to work in an organization that values:Integrity First: We do the right thingTeamwork: We are all connectedResults: We are all drivenPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSAbility to lift and carry equipment up to 60 poundsRequires occasional sitting with frequent walking and/or standingRequires regular and recurrent attendanceWilling and able to work long hours including overtime as requiredADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTSCandidates offered employment must submit to a pre-employment background check and pre-employment drug testCandidates must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States through eVerifyEOE, including disability/vetsEOE, including disability/vets.
