ProMedica Health System Maintenance Worker - Facilities - Full Time - Afternoons in Coldwater, Michigan
ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital has been providing high-quality health care services to the Branch County community since 1939. Located in Coldwater, Michigan, ProMedica Coldwater has 71 acute medical beds and 16 adult psychiatric beds to care for patients and their families.
Performs general maintenance and repairs of the hospital's facilities and equipment. This job requires knowledge and skill in a variety of trades including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting, general maintenance, and carpentry. Incumbents may have an accomplished skill in a specific area, but are required to have basic knowledge of the other skills in order to assist and/or relieve other employees.
Keeps supervision informed of problems, conditions and status of assigned work.
Makes emergency repairs to building systems while on single coverage shifts.
Supports work with documentation.
Assists maintenance mechanics and skilled tradesman with troubleshooting, repair, construction and installation of building, systems, equipment and fixtures.
Regularly performs and assists with the preventive maintenance of equipment, checking oil levels, belts, temperature and fluid levels, air pressures, cleaning equipment, changing filters, etc.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Work conditions vary from office environment to unpleasant conditions due to odors, excessive heat, cold, dirt, dust, small work areas and the like.
May require extended periods of visual and mental concentration when reading and making repairs.
Rotates emergency pager for after hours calls from off site facilities.
A boiler operator license is preferred. Must obtain a High Pressure Boiler Operator License within 2-1/2 years of the date if assigned to the boiler house.
At least three (3) years general maintenance experience with proven competency in the areas of electrical , plumbing, HVAC, painting, and carpentry.
