Acadia Healthcare Maintenance Technician- Swing Shift and Evening Hours in Detroit, Michigan
Candidate must have knowledge and demonstrate aptitude for utilizing hand tools and understanding of basic safety practices.
Candidate must possess maintenance knowledge and demonstrate a general efficacy and understanding of facility plant operations. This may include, but not limited to:
Plumbing: General Sloan flush valve assembly and function, general knowledge of drains/clean-out mechanisms, knowledge of how to properly remove clogs via plunger, hand snake, electrical auger.
Carpentry: general woodworking, drywall patch and repair, window replacement, frame/trim work. Demonstrate ability to properly measure, cut, and shape wood, plastics, flooring etc. Demonstrate ability on how to properly caulk materials. Demonstrate ability to properly replace, and cut-to-fit acoustic ceiling tiles. Individual must possess knowledge of how to use basic hand, and power tools, and be in possession of their own personal tools.
Painting: knowledge, and ability to demonstrate, how to smooth and prepare surfaces for painting (primer, spackle, putty, plaster, joint compound etc.), appropriate paint application (blending, utilizing proper brush for desired job).
Electrical: familiarity with electrical panels, general circuitry, replacing light fixtures, tubing, and ballasts.
Mechanical Equipment: familiarity with chiller and boiler systems, air-handlers, elevators, compactors, etc. Candidate does not need to have extensive knowledge of these systems, but any certifications or experience pertaining to knowledge and experience with mechanical plant operations is an advantage.
Grounds: general knowledge of irrigation systems, horticulture pruning, clean up, ability to utilize a hydraulic pallet jack, very general masonry knowledge, general knowledge of how clean up hazardous or non-hazardous spills.
The candidate will follow direction from the Facility Operation’s Manager on triaging work flow; emergency versus routine maintenance, completing work tickets and requests, properly logging man-hours, and appropriating material needs.
Candidate must be comfortable with utilizing hand-held, two-way radio system as main means of communication on campus.
Candidate will be required to learn and demonstrate the ability to help Facility Manager/Operations Director coordinate fire drills, fire alarm system testing, inspection and maintenance of all emergency lighting, generator and emergency power testing, temperature regulation and water system testing, at the facility. This direction will be given by the Facility Manager or Operations Director. Candidate will be given appropriate paperwork/documentation training by Facility Operations Manager or Operations Director.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience in maintenance or facility/plant operations is required. Experience in healthcare/behavioral health setting is preferred.
Candidate must have ability to take initial direction and demonstrate ability to work independently. Individual needs to be self-motivated.
Candidate needs to demonstrate the ability of proper lifting techniques and ability to maneuver up to 50lbs.
Candidate needs to be comfortable with spending majority of shift on their feet, as well as be comfortable with general ladder/scaffold safety.
CPR and de-escalation/restraint training will be providing during the candidate’s onboarding/orientation by the facility.
General first aid knowledge is preferred
