Quality InspectorDetroit, MICompany is a metal plating and finishing company.Work Hours: 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday - Friday, but when work load increases is can be 6:00am - 5:00pm, and occasionally 1/2 day on Saturday.Up to $18/hr based on experienceSUMMARYInspect Aerospace and Defense components for compliance to blueprint or specification requirements as called out on customer PO’s and work routers.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Establishes a positive working relationship with customer base through prompt and courteous telephone, e-mail, and facsimile communication.Use Micrometers, Bore Gages and other precision measurement devices.Log inspection data on reports and forms.Create inspection forms in MS Word or Excel.Coordinate with Production Control Manager to set inspection schedule.Receives, investigates, and assists in responding to all inquiries regarding complaints.Advises customers, when necessary, on part defect issues.Provides customer feedback to the organization.Assists department manager on special projects as assigned.EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCEPrevious inspection experience with precision manufactured components using mics, calipers, etc. Must be able to read blue prints Must have experience using computer applications, including Microsoft Office and Manufacturing Software.High School Diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience. LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and shop personnel. Ability to speak effectively before customers or employees of organization.MATHEMATICAL / TECHNICAL SKILLS Ability to read, analyze and interpret blueprints, customer specifications, technical procedures, or governmental specifications. Preferred previous inspection experience with Plating and Metal Finishing (would be a plus) Ability to use a thickness testing device is a big plus, a preferred skill. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry such as area, circumference, and volume. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
