Great Lakes Water Authority Team Leader - Water Operations in Detroit, Michigan

Do you love building a team? We are looking for Team Leaders for our Water Operations Group. You will supervise, guide, direct, and train staff within GLWA Water Operations, and assign work on projects, and prioritize tasks. You will complete all local, State, Federal and GLWA required reports and handle annual unit budget as assigned. As you supervise an assigned staff within the unit, you will oversee and plan work assignments and assist in the development of staff, while maintaining a collaborative work environment. You will also prepare performance evaluations of your assigned team.h2Responsibilities (not all-inclusive):/h2ulliYou will be responsible for record keeping and preparing necessary reports that include logs and computer files and keep up-to-date with technology and infrastructure/liliProvide an ongoing safety and injury prevention program and assist in disaster preparedness/liliAttend and facilitate meetings, set priorities, track attendance and approve purchases/liliYou will maintain our Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), while recommending changes to ensure GLWA policies and procedures are adhered to./li/ulh2Required Education Experience:/h2ulliAssociate of Science degree, Associate in Applied Science in Water Resource Management or The Water and Environmental Technology (WET) College Certificate from an accredited college or university; or a combination of related work experience and education/liliManagement and operational experience gained through dynamically more responsible positions in the utility industry/liliA minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience/li/ulh2Knowledge of:/h2ulliPrinciples and practices of supervision, including selection, work planning, organization, performance review and evaluation, employee development, and training and discipline/liliProject management principles, safe work practices and operating procedures/li/ul
