It's a great place to work and grow your career.Structural Technologist - East Lansing, MIThis position will support transportation engineering projects for our Michigan Division and be based in theEast Lansing, MI office.Ideal candidates have a minimum of two (2) years of structural drafting experience. Knowledge of CAD platforms and Microstation is preferred.The Impact You Will Have:Draft and create construction documents primarily utilizing MicrostationDevelop preliminary/conceptual plans of proposed work in the form of maps, photos, sketches, Microstation/CAD drawings or written explanationCoordinate drafting and design with Project EngineersCoordinate design and layout with applicable code requirementsGather quantities and perform estimations of project construction costsDevelop and draw design details, plans, sections and notes independently and from verbal or written directionRecordand organization of progress files, email correspondence, designalterationsand project statusPrint, plot, and scanof various project plans and drawdata Perform occasional field work or site reconnaissance, sometimes requiring out-of-town travelWhat You Will Need:Associate's Degree in Computer Aided Drafting or related technical area requiredMinimum two (2) years of MDOT experience with structural plan layout and detailing of bridges a plusFamiliarity with MDOT Bridge Design Guides/Manuals and AASHTO LRFD SpecificationsKnowledge and proficiency (or ability to gain this knowledge) in appropriate software: CAD platforms, MicroStation V8i, Windows/Networks, and Microsoft Office SuiteExcellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to communicate and deliver in a fast-paced team environmentStrong attention to detail, organization,and collaboration skills are keyGeneral understanding of engineering principles and practicesGeneral understanding of project scheduling and deadlinesAlfred Benesch & Company is an Equal Employment Opportunity/ Affirmative Action/ Disability/ Protected VeteranEmployer.
