Instrumentation and Test Technician

Core Responsibilities:

• Install instrumentation into test vehicles for ADAS test

• Install/Replace/Repair defective components and wiring, using hand tools and soldering iron

• Perform setup of test rigs at test track

• Execute on vehicle and bench test cases per the test specification

• Support Test engineers at test track or performance route

• Perform software updates on DUT (Devices Under Test) on vehicle and at bench as needed

• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues using test set-up and make hardware changes as needed

• Modify/repair the PCB or Electronic Controller Unit h/w for testing

• Design test printed circuit boards for automation

• Aligns and assembles parts, such as leads, electronic components, wires, and terminals, use of hand tools, power tools, soldering irons, tweezers, pliers, cutters, and microscopes

• Help in acquiring appropriate tools

• Assistance with other tasks/discipline as needed and determined by Management.

• Maintenance, procurement and tracking of ADAS test equipment

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of working experience with Automotive Electronic/Electromechanical Products

• Proficient in English oral and written communication skills

• Must demonstrate strong organizationals skills- e.g. 5S

• Good communication skills within the team, internal & external customers a must

• Must be willing to travel domestic/international locations to support internal and external customers and vehicle tests

• Able to work in a regional and global team environment and be flexible with changing priorities

• Able to multitask to meet project timing (time management skills)

• Work independently with little to no supervision to meet tight deadlines

• Logical problem solver; good attention to detail

• Ability to read Assembly drawings, Schematic, and follow verbal instructions regarding assignments

• Proficient with Vector and automation test Tools

• Working experience on Automotive protocols e.g. CAN, LIN, xCP etc.

• Working experience on automotive diagnostics protocols like UDS, KWP 2000 etc..

• Use of MS Office applications

• Must be able to lift heavy test equipment up to 100 pounds (with assistance)

• ADAS testing requires validation of features in various lighting and enviromental conditions; Must be willing to work over 40 hours on nights and weekends when required

• Must be willing to drive vehicles that may range in sze from Passenger cars to Commercial vehicles

• Must willing to work in Hot and Cold conditions.

Nice to have qualifications:

• Working experience on test automation for automotive Electronic Controller Units

• Minimum of 2 years of working experience on Camera and/or Radar technologies

• Working experience on OxTS RT/RT Range or similar tools

• Working experience on 4a target systems (equivalent system experience will also be considered)

• Working experience with AB Dynamics Steeting and braking robots (equivalent system experience will also be considered)

• Active CDL license

Education:

Associate degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience

• Science based bachelors degree preferred

• STEM (Science Technology Engineering Mathematics) curriculms highly desired

Work experience:

Minimum 3 - 5 years
