It is a renewable facility which burns a variety of biomass materials that would otherwise be landfilled, including tree trimmings, land-clearing residue, construction debris, pallets, spools and other clean industrial wood wastes provided by Mid-Michigan Recycling. The power produced supports the health of the forests, mitigates greenhouse gases (is "carbon neutral"), conserves landfill space and supports the electric grid in central Michigan. The electric output is sold pursuant to a long-term power purchase agreement with Consumers Energy Company. This facility can produce enough electricity to power approximately 40,000 homes. Commercial operation began in 1995.PLEASE NOTE: You must timely upload your detailed resume for further consideration for this opportunity.PurposeThe Biomass (Wood) Plant Mechanic is an entry-level position responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical systems and equipment in the plant within applicable standards and codes. Employees will be required to follow any other job-related duties requested by their supervisor.Your duties will include:and#8226;Troubleshoots, calibrates, repairs electrical and electronic monitoring control and trip circuits and their components.and#8226;Calibrate transmitters, gauges and electronic equipment.and#8226;Identifies and assists in obtaining parts necessary to repair electrical and electronic systems.and#8226;Performs preventative maintenance duties such as cleaning, oiling, and lubricating equipment, as assigned.and#8226;Troubleshoots and isolates mechanical problems; implements corrective actions, as appropriate.and#8226;Reads and interprets plans, diagrams and specifications.and#8226;Plans and lays out work in accordance with applicable standards and codes.and#8226;Provides estimates of time and material required; requisition tools and supplies in accordance with established procedures.and#8226;Prepares and maintains documentation and reports, as required.and#8226;Performs basic carpentry work and small engine repair, as required.and#8226;Recommends changes to improve efficiency and/or quality of mechanical operations, as appropriate.and#8226;Maintains a safe work environment through job planning and identification and correction of hazards and adherence to plant safety rules and procedures.and#8226;Maintains a clean and orderly work area.and#8226;Insures adherence to the Preventative Maintenance Malfunction Abatement Plan.and#8226;Performs other comparable and related duties, as assigned.Supervisory RelationsThis position reports to the Maintenance Manager.Requirements/Qualificationsand#8226;High School diploma OR GED.and#8226;2 or more years electrical and mechanical experience.and#8226;Instrumentation and electrical skills.and#8226;Personal computer skills.and#8226;Ability to read and understand complex electrical diagrams, electronic diagrams, logic diagrams and technical manuals.and#8226;Demonstrates ability to read and understand mechanical piping drawings, equipment assembly drawings, technical manuals, job related policies and pr
