We have an opportunity for an experienced and talented Manufacturing Supervisor for our 2nd and 3rd shift operations. This position will be directly responsible for establishing and maintaining a team-centric workplace that is safe for in a thermoplastic injection molding facility. The role requires total oversight of team member engagement, safety, quality, production schedule attainment, and operational effectiveness (efficiency, scrap, and downtime). Direct reports may include general labor, operators, material handlers, mold setters, process technicians, maintenance technicians, and quality control technicians.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage day-to-day safety and supervision of employees with a focus on optimizing all resources (manpower, methods, materials, and machines) to obtain the daily production schedule
Promote unity and teamwork across all personnel both within the shift and across other shifts
Administer and enforce all company goals, plans, objectives, policies, and procedures
Coordinate shift staffing and training
Ensure safety of all employees, monitor usage of appropriate PPE, and actively support safety committee actions
Monitor completion and accuracy of mold changes, first and last shots, production reporting paperwork, and production control paperwork (includes mold change checklists, quality sign offs, process verifications, training documents, and operator work instructions)
Maintain overall housekeeping (interior and exterior) to promote a safe, clean, and organized work environment free of hazards
Responsible for a daily review of key shift performance indicators and employee morale
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
5 years of related experience
Bachelor?s degree and/or equivalent experience with demonstrated success in similar roles, preferred
Excellent interpersonal skills and capable of managing up to five projects at any given time
Proven ability to lead teams of 20 or more
Dynamic self-starter with the ability to work with cross-functional teams
Functional computer skills required (MS Office, particularly Excel proficiency preferred)
Functional ERP system knowledge (IQMS experience preferred)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in thermoplastic injection molding preferred
Knowledge of injection mold machines, tools, plastics, and robotics
Mechanical aptitude
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Position is located in a manufacturing environment, and may involve physical activity such as bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, and sitting for long periods of time, in addition to lifting up to 50lbs.
