Arkema Process Technician Temporary to full time in Grand Rapids, Michigan

US Contractor (temporary to possible permanent role) 10 pm to 6 am Monday through Friday Responsible for the manufacture, packaging, and distribution of specialty chemical products. Ensures that all activities under his/her direction are performed in accordance within regulatory compliance, and: * Follows all plant work instructions, standard operating procedures, quality procedures and plant rules * Participates in Planned General Inspection/Loss Control tour as scheduled. * Participate in activities designed to meet all PSM, ISO9001, ISO14001 and OHSAS18001 requirements identified in the AIMS program. * Communicates ideas, problems or situations by means of a safety suggestion, work order, an employee suggestion or a situation notification. * Follows specific directions on batch tickets for resin or dispersion manufacturing and informs the Production Supervisor or Plant chemist of any deviation from the instructions, while in the process of loading, processing and performing quality checks * Loads or charges the designated kettles or tanks as marked on the batch tickets. * Follows the kettle check list for pre inspection. * Charges raw materials as listed on the batch tickets and records raw material lot numbers as printed on the containers on the batch ticket. * Maintains quality of raw materials left in part full bags or drums by insuring that containers are properly closed after each use and are put away in the PF bag room or sent to the warehouse for storage. * Assists in moving Pre Stage materials from the warehouse, hot room or tarp area, when necessary. * Maintains good housekeeping of work areas * Supports BBS process by performing observations * Supports Loss Control Policy * Will climb ladders and work outside in all weather conditions, lift up to 50 lbs and wear PPE including Full face air purifying respirator * Operation of process equipment and monitoring of process indicators * Conduct environmental inspections and required emergency response. * Follow documented process procedures and completes required paperwork properly * Relays pertinent process information to co-workers and supervisor * Operate a forklift * All other duties as assigned.
