The Planning & Materials Management Leader will lead inventory optimization and planning systems strategy at Aviation Products. The Planning Manager has direct responsibility for the Production Planning team and the Materials team. This includes translating the observed demand stream, volume and variation into a variety of strategies that will result in higher OTTR and lower inventory levels. Hands on experience of Master scheduling process and developing and executing SIOP is required. Knowledge of planning systems, experience in inventory management, and familiarly with lean tools and techniques are key. Demonstrated Experience in ERP systems (Impresa, SAP or Infor), Power BI and Project Management are a plus.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following objectives:
Leading the planning, materials and shipping teams
Developing Goals/Objectives for the team members, coaching and mentoring to develop high performance work teams and performance management.
Developing and deploying inventory strategies
Developing and deploying master scheduling process and guidelines
Leading the Inventory, Operations planning aspect of SIOP.
Development MOS around inventory activities to develop key management level reports and metrics that are actionable
Driving and monitoring MPS reconciliation
Deliver SIOP performance targets including OTTR/Past Due/MPS Compliance/MPS Stability/ ARS(Advanced Replenishment Systems)/Inventory Best Practices.
Create Project plans and drive accountability, ownership and change management.
Rationalizing the supply-side of the supply and demand alignment equation
Drive finished goods inventory strategies that are appropriate for the variety of business segments the site supports
Drive accountability for inventory results across through the introduction of Best practice Inventory projects
Deployment monitoring of tools and processes in the planning and materials functions.
Bachelor's degree in Business or Technical discipline required. A degree in Supply Chain is preferred.
10 plus years directly related experience in progressively responsible positions, Aerospace or Aviation manufacturing is preferred
Previous experience in a Management or leadership role required.
CIPS, APICS Certification highly desirable.
Exceptional planning and organization skills; ability to proactively prioritize and manage several projects simultaneously using Six Sigma and program management procedures. Ability to impact change in processes and culture.
Demonstrated success in building a strong teamwork environment.
Effective facilitator, coach, and leader.
Ability to multi-task and assess priorities in a complex and demanding environment.
Ability to deal with ambiguity.
Ability to drive performance through multiple layers of the organization.
Strong data analysis and manipulation skills (Excel, Access) desired
Project Management certification desirable.
Lean Certification desirable.
