We create places for communities of people that help solve a problem and drive them forwardadvancing the whole community today and well into the future.What You Will Contribute to OHM AdvisorsAs Engineering Technician, you will research and gain an understanding of applicable state and local regulations, design and construction standards, funding mechanisms (grants, loans, etc.), and practices across multiple disciplines. In designing your career in the Hancock Michigan office, you will work with experienced engineers and project managers to contribute to a diversity of engineering specialties, including water resources, site development, environmental, transportation, and construction management. With a variety of diverse projects and services being offered in the Hancock office, the selected candidate(s) will have exposure to a multitude of project types and disciplines, promoting opportunities to specialize in areas of greatest interest and aptitude.Your ResponsibilitiesCollaboratively and effectively work within a team setting to serve OHM Advisors core mission of Advancing Communities.Gain foundational understandings of engineering principles, industry standards, and design procedures to support sound decision-making for tasks.Develop abilities with analysis and design software packages like AutoCAD, MicroStation, ArcGIS, HEC-RAS, EPA/PC-SWMM, etc.Perform engineering analyses and calculations to support designs and recommendations for various engineering specialties.Participate in site visits, field inspections and field data collections to understand real-world conditions and to support analyses and recommendations.With guidance from managers and collaboration with coworkers, develop design plans, specifications, and anticipated construction costs.Interact with project managers and clients on the development of studies, reports, engineering recommendations, and construction plans and specifications.Observe and participate in construction management and administration.Plan and organize the scheduling of specific tasks and assignments to ensure timely completion.Dedicate time to continuing education and further developing skillsets through specialty training, conference attendance, professional organizations, etc.Your TeamAs a trusted member of OHM Advisors Group, you will join a growing, mission-driven team of innovative thinkers who collaborate daily, using our combined gifts and talents to advance the communities we serve continually.What You Will Need to SucceedBachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited program or related field required.Field inspection/material testing experience preferred.ACAD/MicroStation/GIS experience a plus.Material testing certifications a plus.Growth at OHM AdvisorsAdvancement isnt just for our clients.
