DuPont Materials and Mobility is seeking outgoing Shift Activity Coordinators to join our Hillsdale site in Hillsdale, MI! The Hillsdale Plant is home to 2 urethane product lines: Betamate®, and Betaseal®. Materials and Mobility is a leading provider of engineered products for the Automotive and Industrial industries

The Shift Activity Coordinator is responsible for oversight of the designated shift and has responsibility for driving the training and deployment of resources. Will become the subject matter expert on production operation processes and will serve as support to the Production Specialist and Area manager. Will operate production machinery on a day-to-day basis.

LABOR PLANNING & PERFORMANCE – SAC must have a firm grasp of schedule performance expectations in order to safely and efficiently execute area tasks in a timely manner. This involves maintaining labor schedules, reviewing work instructions and batch tickets to ensure work is performed and documented according to exact specifications TEAM LEADING – Having the ability to lead and direct a team as well as being a team player are essential qualities to work successfully in this role. Leading by example is a must, as such, the Shift Activity Coordinator is expected to achieve/maintain a level of proficiency and/or deep process knowledge in the operations area. BUSINESS ACUMEN – Must maintain a clear understanding of our business and Quality objectives and drive results and productivity at all times QUALITY SYSTEMS DEVELOPMENT – Audit processes for compliance and identify opportunities for improvement and problem prevention. Support audit activity as needed. Develop, maintain, and drive improvement in production process performance metrics.

Shift Activity Coordinators are expected to model and champion all DuPont Core Values as well as safety, quality and operational standards and policies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING (Other duties may be assigned, as business needs occur):

Maintain Safety, Respectful Work Environment, Quality, Productivity and Housekeeping on shift and in work area Schedule and expedite work, including manpower and capacity planning Train and develop team members Facilitate process improvements and process developments Resolve conflicts within shift and work area Assist management in worker motivation and conflict resolution Assist management in layout changes and procurement of capital equipment Pull Materials, enter batch tickets in SAP and make material adjustments in systems as needed Update Productions records and charts in Excel Conduct safety, and scrap investigations as well as RCI, CAR's and audit findings.

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

Shift Activity Coordinators are responsible for overseeing team members on their shift This includes ensuring that all shift members achieve and maintain a high and efficient work production level, while the group—as a whole—maintains DuPont safety, quality, and housekeeping standards. Shift Activity coordinators will also ensure a respectful work environment. Conflict resolution capabilities are critical on shift, along with making recommendations to Management regarding, special recognitions, and production deficiencies

Facilitate continuous improvement and process development opportunities and meetings, on a regular basis.

Your Qualifications Profile – Applicants Must Have the following:

High school diploma or GED equivalent, basic math proficiency Good grammatical/written communication skills required Manufacturing experience, and proficient in driving a fork truck. Flexible, adaptable, dependable, reliable and able to adjust to various challenges. Solid communication skills (i.e. oral, written, and listening) Should be detail oriented & have good organizational skills Self-motivated, able to work independently & in a group/team environment Be willing to lead shift meetings. Willing to work any shift, and adjust as needed to fill overtime as needed

A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States; Visa sponsorship/support or relocation assistance are not available for this position.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is also occasionally required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.

Specifically, the employee is frequently required to stand for extended periods of time. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 55 pounds (35 pounds when less than optimal). A lift of over 55-80 pounds will be done with two people. (Over this limit, a mechanical device will be used.) Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
