Stryker Associate Metrologist in Kalamazoo, Michigan
Apply measurement science, mathematics, and physics to develop, document, and maintain procedures and methods for dimensional, optical, physical, mechanical measurement and test equipment based on analysis of measurement problems, and accuracy / precision requirements.
Use of IM&TE to inspect, measure, test, and analyze prototype and current components.
Review technical drawings for adherence to ASME/ISO drafting standards (GD&T), and ability to inspect and manufacture.
Provide written, graphical, electronic, and verbal findings and results to engineers, technicians, managers, vendors and customers as required.
Perform quality studies per ASME/ISO and Corporate standards.
Ability to develop complex or specialty holding fixtures for inspection.
Must be able to generate, follow and explain detailed inspection programs and instructions for use of manual or automated inspection techniques.
Operate industrial CT Scanning equipment
Perform imaging / cross sectional and 3D analysis of medical devices, components and prototypes
Training others in inspection techniques and procedures

Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
Must have the ability to work with and assemble small objects and component parts.
Ability to operate in a fast paced environment, sometimes requiring extended work hours.
Must be able to complete detailed documentation accurately.
Must be able to analyze and resolve complex inspection issues of a broad scope using independent judgment.
Must be able to communicate product and/or component parts deficiencies to internal and external customers.
Must be able to plan, organize, and implement multiple concurrent tasks.
Qualifications/Work Experience Preferred
Excellent analytical skills.
Effective interpersonal communications skills.
Blueprint/Engineering schematic reading and interpretation.
Advanced inspection techniques.
Experience with Calypso software (Zeiss).
Basic PC skills, Word, Excel, Office.
PL1 qualification (Stryker)
Knowledge of manufacturing / machining methods
Minimum 5 years of metrology experience.
Proficient in CT operations
Education/Special Training Required
College level Metrology / inspection / manufacturing classes preferred.
