Pfizer Kalamazoo Summer Student Internship 2019 in Kalamazoo, Michigan

ROLE SUMMARY

This role is a temporary internship position at Pfizer Global Supply (PGS) in Kalamazoo, Michigan, during summer 2019. Kalamazoo is one of the largest manufacturing sites within the PGS network and has the following core manufacturing operations:

Active pharmaceutical ingredient manufacturing, which includes organic synthesis and biosynthesis (fermentation). Drug product manufacturing, which includes injectables, biologicals and biosimilars, liquid and semi-solids, powders, and medical devices.

The core manufacturing operations are supported by many departments and teams including:

  • Quality Control

  • Process Development

  • Environmental, Health and Safety

  • Maintenance and Reliability

  • Automation

  • Utilities

  • Project Engineering

  • Business Technology

  • Laboratory Analysis

  • Procurement

  • Supply Chain

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

A summer intern can expect to join a team that fits well with their field of study and interests within core manufacturing operations or one of the supporting departments. Summer interns can expect challenging assignments with the opportunity to apply knowledge and gain work experience within a GMP manufacturing environment. In addition to their work tasks, summer interns can expect opportunities to participate in group social and developmental learning activities throughout the summer.

  • Current undergraduate and graduate students that would return to school in fall 2019

  • Preferred majors in science, technology, engineering and/or math (STEM) and supply chain. A GPA of 3.0 or higher is required.

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Capacity to quickly identify problems and create solutions

  • A focus on delivering high quality work

  • Highly effective written, verbal, and presentation skills

  • A team player who is willing to go above and beyond to meet goals and objectives

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and assignments

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
