Role Summary:
Safely conduct seal assembly, repair, and testing of mechanical seals and components.
Responsibilities & Requirements:
Job duties include:
Safely conduct seal assembly, repair, and testing of mechanical seals and components
Conduct collaboration and teamwork with the existing assembly, testing, and repair team
Precision assembly of both cartridge and non-cartridge seals by following procedures and assembly drawings per seal assembly artisan program
Perform repairs mechanical seals including decontamination and disposition of seal components
Build face inserts and lapping the assembled inserts to print specifications
Actively participate in CIP projects to improve department metrics such as Safety, OTP, efficiency, etc.
Trouble shoot and actively participate with the collaboration process on trouble jobs
Operate low pressure air testers to test cartridge seal
Following the pressure testing safety procedure, perform hydro-testing on faces, glands, sleeves, and seal assemblies
Actively participate in personal development
Measure critical seal features such as sleeve bores, bolt torque, face flatness, and any other mechanical feature as called out on the drawing
Perform Inventory and Warehouse functions in support of Building 3
Qualifications

Good communication and conflict resolution skills
Have basic mechanical knowledge of hand tools
Flexibility to change direction to meet changing business needs
Have a basic understanding of instrumentation and gaging
An introductory understanding of plumbing components and fitting preferred
Ability to read P&ID diagrams preferred
Trade school, automation training, or other education encouraged
Competent computer skills preferred
