The teams services cover all aspects of clients needs from advisory, auditing, certification and inspection to outsourcing, quality assurance, testing, training and more.Under general to limited supervision, perform duties related to routine and non-routine EMC/EMI testing, including testing of a complex nature. This position may be considered an expert in specific test standards.SCHEDULE: Mix of first and second shift - Must be available to work a split shift or second shift on occasion.DUTIES:Prepare and set up test EMC/EMI samples and test equipment.Operate equipment and perform testing in accordance with approved EMC/EMI test plan.May assist with test plan creation and/or method development; May create test plans or method development independently for assigned tests within area of expert knowledge.Obtain and record test data in accordance with standards.Extract and compile engineering dataPerform analysis of test data; research and troubleshoot inconsistent test data.Draft, create or pre-review final test reports.Maintain and troubleshoot equipment as needed, including monitoring calibration and SPC.Make recommendations regarding the interpretation and applicability of test standards.Communicate with clients regarding general project inquiries, updates, etc.Provide training and work instructions to lower level technicians.Provide pricing information for client quotation requests.Performing other work as required.QualificationsREQUIREMENTS:High school diploma or GED5 years directly related EMC/EMI experienceAbility to utilize basic shop equipment and various hand toolsAbility to review, understand, and convey technical information in an effective mannerAbility to apply common-sense understanding to carry out simple one or two step instructionsAbility to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variablesAbility to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environmentStrong interpersonal skillsStrong communication skills, in both verbal and written formatsMicrosoft Office software expertise, including Word, Excel and OutlookA career with Intertek means joining a global network of professionals dedicated to bringing quality and safety to life.
