State of Michigan Physicist Manager 14 - Radioactive Materials Unit Supervisor in Lansing, Michigan
This position is the first-line supervisor of the Radioactive Materials Unit responsible for regulating radioactive material in the environment and supervising the Michigan Indoor Radon Program and the Radiological Protection Laboratory. The position has the primary responsibility for regulating other radioactive materials in Michigan and supervising Unit staff performing Technologically Enhanced Naturally Occurring Radioactive Material (TENORM) work. In addition, the position performs special projects for the Section involving the exercise of independent judgment during the review of detailed technical information. Special projects include providing radiological remediation oversight during the decommissioning of nuclear power plants in Michigan.
Required Education and Experience
Possession of a bachelor's degree in physics or nuclear engineering.
Physicist Manager 14
Five years of professional experience equivalent to a Physicist, including three years equivalent to a Physicist P11, two years equivalent to a Physicist 12, or one year equivalent to a Physicist Specialist 13.
