Description/Job Summary


Interact with Manufacturing/Operations Manager, Supervisors, Team Leaders, and Manufacturing associates to assess requirements, develop plans, and provide needed materials. Provide direction for the purpose of assisting associates to safely operate equipment to make product that meets the Customer s expectations at levels of quality and productivity that meet or exceed the established plan.


  • Ensure that Manufacturing associates possess the required skills to include:safety, quality, productivity, housekeeping / 5S, and proper machine operation.

  • Verify that documented procedures and instructions are being followed, such as:standard operating procedures, work instructions, inspection instructions, process set-up instructions, housekeeping, rework instructions, preventive maintenance instructions, reaction plans, etc…

  • Frequently review the quality of products following each process and provide feedback to Product Quality Engineers.

  • Generate and recommend solutions to production problems and suggest corrective action to ensure quality standards, policies and procedures are adhered to.

  • Facilitate communications between operations within assigned cells, between work cells and shifts.Develop action plans to increase productivity and scrap reduction.Hold shift meetings.

  • Maintain assigned time sheets, vacation requests, etc... Help coordinate daily overtime.

  • Coordinate changeovers / setups at required operations.Plan changes for minimum disruption.

  • Complete Production Manager Productivity Report.Verify accuracy of the operation productivity and Pareto sheets; provide feedback on process and operation.

  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels.

  • Prioritize, organize operations.

  • Maintain a motivational climate of continuous improvement.

  • Anticipate, analyze, diagnose production problems. (tooling problems, equipment malfunctions, material or labor shortages, etc.).

  • Provide input to facilitate effective cost reduction, work simplification, scheduling, etc…

  • Monitor accuracy of production and quality reporting information with accountability for accuracy for associates/shifts.

  • Implement and monitor all safety procedures with appropriate follow-up and corrective actions for unsafe conditions.

  • In addition to the above responsibilities, this position is responsible for other tasks as assigned.


  • High School Diploma or GED.Bacheolors Degree in Applied Science in Business, Engineering or Manufacturing preferred or equivalent work and/or Supervisory experience.

  • Requires 1 year experience in manufacturing operations (2 years experience preferred).
