Company Description: Motion Control Corporation is a Michigan-based distributor and control systems integrator that specializes in the robotic, motion control, vision, networking, PLC and safety systems used in manufacturing. The company designs and builds press feed controls, drive panels used in transmission test, EV battery test panels, and custom controls used in automated torque, test, forming, packaging and assembly applications.Summary: This position is for a panel builder with the ability to read prints and build UL-508a industrial control panels to customer specification (automotive ndash; typically GM and Ford). Panel build is typically undertaken at MCCrsquo;s facility in Livonia, MI. Occasional out-of-state travel may be required.Responsibilities:ulliCheck controls drawings for accuracy, mark up and maintain ldquo;as-builtrdquo; drawings./liliLay out and mount components to subpanels and enclosures; label and wire components, connectors and cordsets per design./liliFollow applicable lock-out/tag-out, arc flash, and other safety procedures at all times./liliBe self-motivated and work independently, meeting deadlines for task completion./liliMaintain current knowledge of NFPA, UL 508, NEC and awareness of IEC and CE as they relate to control panel build, and apply customer standards during build./liliReport hours per job daily./li/ulQualifications:ulliDemonstrated ability to read electrical prints./liliDemonstrated ability to lay out and install components on subplates and in enclosures, and wire panels quickly and efficiently./liliDemonstrated knowledge of electrical safety, arc-flash and lockout/tagout procedures, UL508a, NEC, and NFPA 79, as well as IEC and CE requirements related to panel build./liliCandidates must be competent in the safe use of hand tools and power tools used for panel build including wire cutters, strippers and crimpers, screw drivers, drills, taps, knockouts, jig saws, threading machines, and band saws./liliShow good computer skills, proficient with wire and component labelling software and printerslotters, with basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, and the ability to access vendor information via the internet./liliBeing self-directed and experience at completing tasks on time./liliAbility to work well independently and as part of a team./liliExperience wiring small single door through multi-door control enclosures containing VFDrsquo;s, PLCrsquo;s, HMIrsquo;s, air conditioners, DC and AC components, pilot devices, terminal blocks, disconnects, fuses, and duct./li/ulRequirements:ulliHigh School Diploma or equivalent required./liliRelevant machine build / panel build experience/liliMust maintain a valid driverrsquo;s license, reliable vehicle, and personal car insurance./liliAbility to climb stairs and ladders without restriction and ability to lift and carry a minimum of 75 lbs./liliAbility to safely operate fork lift (or willingness to learn)./li/ul
