This position is located in Livonia, MI.As a Material Planner, you will be responsible for: Planning and purchasing materials to support scheduled and forecasted productionCreating and providing forecasts, releases, and production requirements for internal and external suppliersCoordinating with warehouse and production staff to ensure smooth material receipt and handlingDocumenting overall material needs, supplier contacts, and interfaces with purchasing to request purchase ordersResolving supply issues and escalate as necessary to ensure production operations are not interruptedCoordinating with Production Scheduler to create PID's and set up transportation to get raw materials to external service providers as neededIdentifying and implementing potential material cost savings, including working with Production and Purchasing teams to create efficiency across the organizationNotifying Purchasing and suppliers of non-conforming material and assist in requesting return shipments and RTV'sMonitoring supplier delivery performance and notifying Purchasing of late/early/inaccurate deliveries and non-conforming materialComplying with Quality system procedures and work instructionsMinimum qualifications to be considered as a Material Planner:High school diploma or equivalent2 years of experience in planning and schedulingKnowledge of Six Sigma principlesStrong communication skills and the ability to work with various departmentsExcellent math skills and the ability to analyze various demand scenariosStrong desire to solve problems and work with others to create solutionsIf you share our passion for providing innovative solutions to complex challenges, we want you on our team.
