Within the Product Engineering Braking Business Unit, Customer Application & System Engineering Department, Central Laboratory Group.
CV, DV, and PV Performance and Endurance/Durability Testing of Actuation Components.
Build and maintain Actuation test equipment. Makes routine measurements, arithmetic computations, observes and records instrument readings and assists higher-grade technicians.
Performs both work based primarily on established practices and variable sequence testing that may not be standardized and uses a variety of specifications and reference guides in selecting and adapting procedures.
Adapts to execute engineering requests with supervision and mentoring from Senior Product Technicians and above.
Develops a background of knowledge and understanding of engineering practice based on ongoing substantial, training and acquired experience.
The test procedures require some experimental skill and judgment to achieve accurate and reproducible data.
Weekend shifts are required in this role.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE :
Strong mechanical / electrical background
Must be a self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision
Proficient in use of Microsoft Office programs
Report writing / data presentation experience
Flexible to changing work schedules and adjust to changes in daily assigned responsibilities
Able to adjust to a fast pace environment
Preferred SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE :
Previous work experience in a lab testing environment
Machine shop skills (mill, lathe, drills, etc..)
Blueprint reading and familiarity with GD&T
Basic LabView experience.
Previous technical automotive experience a plus.
Prior equipment programming experiences a plus.
Work Hours: 40 hours per week, plus daily and/or weekend overtime as needed. May be assigned to day, evening or afternoon shift as required.

High School Diploma. 2 year Associates or Specialized Technical Degree preferred.
