The Ammonia Technician, an at-will employee working under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, is responsible for the successful and continuous operation of the refrigeration systems. The Ammonia Technician leads the designs and execution of effectively documented processes and training that continue to build the companyrsquo;s ammonia refrigeration competency. The Ammonia Technician serves as the companyrsquo;s key maintenance leader related to ammonia refrigeration system safety, uptime and capacity./divdiv/divdivESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:/divolliLeads the design and maintenance of engine room systems and processes. This includes safety, documented monitoring processes and equipment and effective preventative maintenance./lili value="2"Leads the troubleshooting and repairs of compressors and associated systems and equipment to keep the plant running safely and at needed load capacity. This includes ensuring ammonia refrigeration systems are properly documented and this documentation is properly available./lili value="3"Coordinates with Department Supervisors and company Training Manager to drive ammonia and refrigeration related training plans for Maintenance Technicians and others throughout the organization that impact the refrigeration system./lili value="4"Serves as primary contact with outside contractors. Defining and writing Requests for Quotes and leading the quote evaluation process with input. Designs and communicates project status related to any work with outside contractors./lili value="5"Maintain the Process Safety Management under the OSHA guidelines. Maintains logs and schematic prints as required, completing all paperwork promptly and accurately/lili value="6"Monitors and maintains all freezing/cooling equipment for top efficiency making adjustments as needed. Monitors and maintains the Glycol system for mix holding tanks, making adjustments as needed./lili value="7"Monitors and maintains cooling towers and associated equipment, understanding of the Micro program is needed to keep water consumption as low as possible while managing risk./lili value="8"Performs pump downs on any part of the process allowing for work on equipment or pipes./lili value="9"Installs and/or troubleshoots any electric components on the equipment and has the ability to evaluate the need for contractorsrsquo; assistance./lili value="10"Maintains all equipment and tools that enter the plant in a sanitary fashion, observing all company food safety practices and standards for maintenance./lili value="11"Works as a member of the Maintenance team, learning and performing broad maintenance tasks as needed./lili value="12"
