Manager (Operations Milling - Marquette)

This position will be responsible for the overall performance of assigned department(s) and employees within; including production output, compliance, driving lean initiatives and achieving set metrics. The Manager will direct/manage/supervise their employees inside a manufacturing environment or office area and ensure adherence to company policy and procedures. This position will be critical in success of Operations and will help RTI Surgical maximize the amount of patients served while maintaining a high level of quality and safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Primary responsibility for meeting production goals and high-level oversight of related functions which may include some or all of the following: inventory, forecasting, build plans, capacity analysis, yields, expenses, scheduling etc. Regular participation in daily production meetings and understanding of relevant metrics and drivers.

  • Provides coordination with support functions such as planning, engineering, and quality.

  • Performs high-level reviews for performance indicators which may include: injury rate, exceptions, delivery metrics, fallout, departmental expense, etc., and leads strategic planning/execution for proper achievement of these indicators.

  • Maintains active involvement in employee selection, training and development. Performs related hiring, performance reviews, corrective actions, etc. for direct-line employees and provides strong oversight for employees reporting under supervisory staff, if applicable. Process area champion for employee safety and overall employee morale.

  • Understanding of materials, facility, process, procedures and equipment under management. Strong involvement and presence in work areas to monitor efficiency and identify improvements, ensure compliance, performs periodic audits, and identify efficiency improvements.

  • Actively involved and leader of specific process / operational improvement programs which may include: QRB, CRB, complaint reviews, etc. Leads problem solving activities in process area and drives effective corrective actions.

  • Involved member of the Operations Leadership Team, including attendance at meetings and ownership of initiatives. Develops positive relationships and outcomes both within departments of ownership and cross-functionally.

  • Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience Required:

  • 5-8 years of experience in functional area and/or 3 years of Supervisory Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Engineering preferred
