Eaton Corporation Engineering Technician in Marshall, Michigan

Eaton’s Vehicle division is currently seeking an Engineering Technician to join our team. This position will be based out of our Marshall, MI office.

Position Overview:

The primary function of the Engineering Technician is to conduct various testing in support of engineering prototype development and validation test activities

In this function you will:

  • Use pneumatic/hand tools, inspection and layout equipment including Calipers, Dial Indicators, and Micrometers

  • Assemble prototype engine test rigs, conduct specific unit testing, and complete teardown analysis

  • Build test fixtures which includes light machining and design

  • Utilize various control software to include iTest/LabVIEW with an emphasis on operations of the test as well as collection of data

  • Troubleshoot and debug issues throughout the test cycle

  • Instrument mechanical components to include strain gages, proximity probes and thermocouples

  • Support campus EHS, material and quality control activities including – LOTO, safety action items, parts inventory and storage, and other items as necessary

  • Champion change to improve quality, performance, cost reduction, and standardization within the lab.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma required with 4 years of experience related to automotive, technician, or mechanical experience

  • Proven mechanical knowledge and aptitude

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future

  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Marshall, MI will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in Applied Science

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience related to automotive, technician, or mechanical experience

  • Prior experience working in an automotive setting is preferred

  • Previous experience building prototype samples, supporting development and validation testing, and analyzing/processing test data

  • iTest/LabVIEW data acquisition and controls experience

  • Calibration experience
