Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager or Maintenance Superintendent, this position is responsible for coordinating and supervising the work of employees and contractors in the general maintenance of machines, tools and equipment. This position is responsible for maintaining production related equipment; maintaining electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, robotic, automation systems and related systems.
Supervises and assigns the work of union maintenance employees and contractors. Balances quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas. Works to continuously improve in all areas.
Ensure all work is performed in a safe manner, with 100% compliance to all safety rules and regulations.
Understand and comply with TS16949 and ISO 14001 requirements.
Inspects daily work for quality and completeness.
Determines material, equipment, supplies, and time required to complete tasks.
Maintain maintenance employees work hours and input changes into computer system.
Coordinates and assists in ordering spare parts for equipment.
Prior to delivery, will participate in equipment buyoff with supplier; and during and after new equipment installation, inspects major contract work on the electrical, pneumatic, mechanical and other related systems.
Monitor and assign preventative maintenance tasks.
Answer and/or provide information regarding all grievances in maintenance area.
Manages employee issues, training, safety, discipline and other concerns. Resolves employee issues through problem resolution.
Performs accident investigations.
Meet and exceed department goals and targets – KPI’s.
Performs special projects as requested and related tasks as needed.
Essential Skills and Experience:
High School diploma or GED
2-5+ years of related experience
Basic knowledge of the install, inspect, and repair of machining, grinding, heat treating and assembly automation required.
Knowledge of Fanuc robotic systems.
Basic knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, plumbing, automated conveyor systems and other pressure and force systems.
Ability to update inventories and other supplies as needed, with focus on costs.\
Ability to work under pressure in real time production processe
Preferred Skills and experience:
Associate’s degree or journeymen certification in a skilled trade preferred
SAP Knowledge, PM program, work tickets experience preferred.
Maintenance and/or supervision experience in the areas of manufacturing, machining, grinding, heat treat and assembly automation preferred.
