The Mixing Operator will work with various raw materials in the manufacture of products. Responsible for following specific instructions outlining designated quantities to be used and production times required. Operates various equipment in the manufacture of products; utilizes basic repair tools in performing routine mechanical repairs; operates forklift to load and/or unload raw materials and finished products. Also, coordinates manufacturing efforts and conducts quality control initiatives.

This position has the knowledge and demonstrates the ability to operate state of the art production equipment. Individual will interface with equipment controls to mix finished product. Individual will operate mixing equipment in preparing finished product for packaging. Operator will take corrective actions when nonconformance occurs. May perform work on various packaging lines to ensure the timely production of products. Individual must be willing to work as a team member. Work within a confined space is required and the position will work with chemicals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for combining raw materials, as designated by work order for the manufacture of chemical admixtures. Assures that quality standards of company are always met.

  • Responsible for assuring quality work and appearance of finished product packaging.

  • Efficiently operate equipment ensuring timely completion of quality products per production schedule. Minimize and rework scrap material.

  • Labels product; responsible for packaging finished product and prepares product for shipment.

  • Follow all appropriate Environmental Protection, Safety, Health and Quality (ESHQ) policies. Wears prescribed Personal Protective equipment and ensures that prescribed safeguards are properly used.

  • Individual must be able to lift 50 pounds consistenly throughout the shift. Maximum lifting requirements are 70-80 pounds and must be able to push and pull up to 100 poungs.

  • Individuals must have the ability to understand and follow all written manufacturing work orders and oral instructions; read various measuring devices and perform basic mathematical calculations.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience:

Requires up to six months on the job training to learn manufacturing process/procedures, mixing of finished products according to specifications, storing of raw materials and finished products, prepare routine paperwork required and any special projects or unusual aspects of the job.

One or more years’ experience in a manufacturing environment is helpful.
