As a Group Manager at Caterpillar, you will direct an assigned production area in the manufacture and/or assembly of quality parts to meet established production requirements. uJob /uDuties/Responsibilitiesu may include, but are not limited to:/u ul liManages multiple sections and reports to the facility manager./li liOwns the Continuous Improvement process, making sure new ideas are generated, worked and implemented, and any roadblocks are eliminated./li liPerforms on-going evaluation of work-loads and assists Section Managers in solving problems/li liContributes to the total manufacturing effort by directing and controlling several operations from fabrication, manufacturing, assembly, test, and shipping./li liEnsures production schedules can be met in a Lean Manufacturing environment to satisfy assembly line and parts schedule requirements./li liInitiates and conducts process improvement dialogs with Section Managers, Team Leads and Team Members./li liDevelops detailed near-term and long-term production plans./li liDrives root cause analysis and resolution on all forms of loss, i.e., safety, quality, production./li /ul /ul uRequired Qualifications:/u ul liBachelorrsquo;s degree from an accredited university/li liBusiness management skills, plus CPS processes and tools knowledge./li liTechnical understanding of the manufacturing and material selection process./li li5+ years of progressively responsible operations and/or supply chain experience/li li2+ years of supervisory/management experience/li liPrevious management, motivational and problem solving skills along with good human relations and communications skills/li /ul /ul uDesired Qualifications:/u ul liBachelorrsquo;s degree preferably in business/li liGeneral understanding of the Caterpillar organization, products, policies, and procedures/li /ul /ul uAdditional Information:/u This position requires 10% or less travel.
