The purpose of this job is to ensure that maintenance is carried out safely in an effective and efficient manner. This job primarily supports the daily field maintenance in Michigan Operations, but will also include limited turnaround support during peak demand times.
The Work Coordinator has the primary responsibility for ensuring that maintenance work is carried out in a manner that is safe, efficient, and effective, and done in accordance with procedures and best practices. The Work Coordinator has a critical role ensuring that every aspect of maintenance work is performed in the most efficient manner. The Work Coordinator ensures that all work is executed through the Global Maintenance Work Process. The Work Coordinator must respond quickly to legitimate E-jobs, re-deploying resources as appropriate, yet minimizing the adverse impact to the schedule.
Responsibilities / Duties
Prioritize and assign job resources
Drive schedule compliance across the Hub
Lead meetings to review upcoming schedules with plant Activity Coordinators (AC)
Report the progress of the daily work to enable adjustments to the daily work schedule when needed
Deliver 100% completion of compliance PPMs
Meet department goals for completion of non-compliance PPMs
Drive productivity improvements using time-on-tools studies
Manage the active backlog to deliver timely service to plant partners for planned work
Provide weekly contractor resourcing level input to ensure efficient use of company resources
Be familiar with the status of the craft skill certifications. Assign work such the craft(s) on the job has sufficient knowledge and skill to perform a safe and reliable repair. Assign work for development of craft skill when possible.
Identify and assign work to non-standard shifts (weekend or afternoon) such that they have a full shift of value adding work but also so that emergency work can be immediately responded to.
Identify and record unplanned events. Ensure they are resolved and improvements are made.
Record craft vacation requests and escalate concerns if minimum staffing levels are reached.
Reviews job packages. Provide procedures and paperwork when needed.
Verify proper work processes are followed. Challenge job priority or routing when needed.
Write work permits
Report work status to plant partners whenever progress deviates from schedule or previously agreed upon timeline.
Monitor and ensure required compliance tasks are completed
Participate in staff on-call
Validate contractor time charges and complete contractor time entry for billing
Individual will interact with all levels of employees, disciplines, and functions in daily activities
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Good interpersonal skills are required.
Must have strong multi-tasking, problem solving and time management skills.
Demonstrate leadership skills - inspire others and lead them through influence.
A self-starter who can identify, prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks.
Demonstrates being a strong influential leader towards work group improvements.
A minimum of a High School Diploma/GED is required.
A minimum of 4 years maintenance experience in the chemical, manufacturing, industrial or similar experience industry.
Must be physically able to work in the field including but not limited to climbing ladders, scaffold, stairs and lifting (Not to exceed 50 lbs.) with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Is experienced or willing/able to learn computer programs, such as, Microsoft Applications and SAP.
A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
Maintenance and/or activity planning and/or coordination experience is preferred.
Experience creating and/or managing a critical path for large maintenance jobs or construction projects
