Our facilities include Port City Castings Corp., Muskegon Castings Corp., Port City Metal Products, Port City Die Cast, Port City Custom Plastics, Alloy Resource Corp, and Mirror Image Tool.JOB SUMMARY:Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in setting up and operating die-casting machines and employees engaged in operating a variety of machines to shape parts or products by removing excess material by performing the following duties. Participates in "Goal Diggers" team providing input for production scheduling, problem solving and process improvements.ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:•Initiates changes in timing of casting cycle, lubrication of dies, etc...•Supervises operation of melting furnaces and trim presses.•Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completions of job assignment.•Studies production schedules and customer requirements for the scheduling of die cast tooling change when required.•Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.•Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.•Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product.•Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department or work crew.•Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.•Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.•Maintains time and production records.•Estimates requisitions and completes required documentation of critical parts for the production of product.•Confers with technicians and other staff to coordinate activities of individual departments.•Records and studies downtime reports to assist in maximizing up time of equipment.•Completes daily checklists related to job.•Supervisors die casting technicians and operators, melters and other production personnel when applicable.•Inspects and measures products to verify conformance to company standards.•Directs workers in adjusting machines and equipment to repair products which fail to meet standards.•Assists in flow of material plans through department and develops physical layout of machines for new and/or existing production work orders.•Responsible for lay-out designs on stock to guide workers in machining operations.•Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product.•Suggests change
