POSITION PROFILE

The Manufacturing Coordinator supports the Manufacturing Supervisor in their efforts to supply high quality and timely service to all functions and shifts within the organization.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform various tasks on JDE computer system - e.g. text noting, parts availability, weekly schedule guides etc.

  • Order, Receive, store, distribute, stage, or load stock or freight or coordinate and stage parts for department

  • Identify and label product for correct color and quantity

  • Coordinate movement of stock between locations

  • Keep accurate records of transactions performed, shortages, parts to be painted and log all scrap

  • Inspect produced parts for quality and quantity

  • Perform subassembly as needed, minor repairs and adjust product as necessary

  • Participates in standard job rotations. Perform job rotation with team members to insure proper standardized work and ergonomic safety. May be required to fill in or assist in various manufacturing positions to support the department

  • Responsible for managing planner analysis to ensure the correct products are flowing throughout manufacturing process

  • Maintain inventory and cycle counts at 95% accuracy

  • Wand product information into computerized inventory system

  • May be required to work during physical inventory

  • Perform all job duties according to safety policies and procedures

  • Performs all 5S housekeeping tasks in appropriate areas. Works to ensure work area is maintained in a clean, orderly and safe condition at all times. Completes all regularly scheduled 5S checks. Immediately alerts team member and team coordinators of all unsafe work conditions

  • Participates as a member of the Manufacturing Department Team, i.e. Finish, Fabrication, Trim, etc. Participates in ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies. Coordinates work to ensure best practices with all team members. Attends appropriate team meetings. As a member of the Team, fosters strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues; e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes, etc. Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas of lack of cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues effecting cohesiveness. Actively look for ways, and reinforce actions needed, to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization

  • Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives. This position description is intended to guide the activities of the Manufacturing Team Member, i.e. Finish, Fabrication, Trim, etc. It is not intended to limit the thinking and creativity of the person to the work of this function. Nor is it intended that this describe all the work that may be required of the person in this position

Required Skills

EXPERIENCE:

  • Technical: Must be able to work in a team environment; Must be able to pass test for powered industrial truck driver's license; Must have basic computer skills

  • Industry : Experience in a manufacturing environment required. Working knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques, principles, and tools preferred

  • Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to analyze problems and develop appropriate solutions

  • Project Management: Demonstrated ability to lead and manage projects under minimal supervision and meet required deadlines

  • Knoll Operating systems principles and objectives: Knows all Knoll Muskegon established operating systems (e.g. quality, safety, environmental). Understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity the systems and this position’s role in support of these systems - including a consideration of the impact of individual actions on the systems and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas

Required Experience

EDUCATION:

High school diploma or equivalent required
