Masco Corporation Quality Systems Manager in Novi, Michigan
The Quality System Manager is responsibilities for establishing, maintain and monitor adherence to the quality assurance system including quality standards.
This position is accountable to effectively implement, and ensure adherence to company quality systems and critical quality protocols, build relationships with company-wide customers and comply with their quality requirements, and to continually improve the Quality Systems to achieve and maintain world-class quality QMS.
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Establish and maintain policy for documentation of all products
Reviews documentation before being sent to external customers
Implements ongoing quality improvement processes working with interdepartmental teams and BMC Manufacturing sites
Anticipates, to the extent possible, program release problems and takes corrective action to resolve and achieve commitments.
Escalates issues Director of Quality as needed
Drive a data based proactive quality culture in the with BMC Headquarters Novi Mi.
Evaluate, and oversee the monitoring of gages and measuring devices to detect non-conforming product
Ongoing observation of all in-process manufacturing levels and evaluation of their adherence to good and established quality standards
Constant evaluation, analysis, and continuous improvement of the present quality assurance system and procedures
Maintain history of records associated with listing agencies (CSA, IAPMO, and U.L.)
Form teams for analyzing corrective actions for defective materials
Support in preparing Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) paperwork for customers
Coordinate efforts with suppliers to support new product development efforts and improvements with existing products
Maintain good employee relations and communications
Performs other related duties as needed and assigned.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
Minimum 8 years’ experience in Quality Management; managing remotely
Experience in ISO9001, Quality Audits and Supplier quality
Experience with implementing good quality processes and systems (Control plans, PFMEA’s, Corrective action process)
Problem solving methodology– 5Whys, 8D, Root Cause analysis, etc.
QMS experience with PFMEA’s, PPAP, Control Plan
Bachelor Science in Engineering or related (discipline)
Working in a Matrix Organization
A.S.Q. certification as a quality engineer
Certified in Six Sigma/Red X/Lean training
