Job Description

This position is responsible for leading the food safety and quality assurance systems which promotes customer satisfaction and positively impacts the quality culture.

Quality Assurance:

  • Leads quality personnel on a day-to-day basis.

  • Maintains food safety, quality and regulatory documentation, as required.

  • Oversees quality metrics to ensure raw materials and finished goods conform to food safety and quality guidelines while meeting or exceeding customer specifications.

  • Performs root-cause analysis and other problem-solving activities to identify effective corrective actions, preventative measures and process improvements.

  • Assists in initiation and implementation of quality improvement activities as appropriate to raise the food safety and quality performance for business development of the company-s customer base.

  • Trains Team Members on GMPs and food safety related issues.

  • Interacts with cross functional teams to identify opportunities to improve food safety and quality to establish feedback all team members.

  • Monitors, coordinates and leads facility certifications, to include, but not limited to Kosher, Organic, GFSI, etc.

  • Performs other duties as assigned or required."


Experienced in implementing GMP's in a manufacturing environment; ability to achieve GFSI Practitioner status. Food manufacturing environment: 5-7 years "

Bachelor-s degree in Food Science, Food Microbiology or similar field preferred.

Five plus years of relevant experience in a food manufacturing environment with FDA or USDA regulated industries. HACCP certification required.

"Read, analyze and interpret business, professional, technical or governmental documents. Write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers and the public.

Mathematical Ability:

Work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:

Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have an advanced working level of knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (M.S. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access). Ability to learn MRP/production software as it applies to quality and laboratory testing
