Loc Performance is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated CNC Lathe Line Leader to join our production department!

The Lathe Line Leader will have setup and operator expertise of computer numerical control (CNC) lathe machining centers that perform machine functions such as boring, facing, and threading parts of metallic workpieces such as castings, forgings and bar stock.

Duties

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities Is responsible in assisting supervision of department employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T;).

Programs CNC machines by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.

Sets-up CNC machines by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers; indicating vices; tramming heads.

Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces; adhering to international standards.

Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.

Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations. Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.

Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.

Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.

Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.

Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent, minimum five years CNC Machining experience and minimum one year of Supervisor experience.

Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Mathematical Skills Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Skill in reading and interpreting documents such as work orders, drawings, internal and customer specifications, manuals, and safety regulations.

Ability to identify, organize, estimate, and recognize differences or similarities with excellent attention to detail.

Ability to efficiently train Level I and II CNC Machinist in all aspects of the job. The duties of trainer would include on-the-job training.

Ability to train individuals with a variety of experience levels and personalities.

Ability to communicate information clearly and directly co-workers and supervisory personnel both verbally and in writing.

Ability to adapt to change (positive or negative).

Ability to accept of criticism and deal calmly and effectively with stressful situations.
