The Packaging Manager will coordinate all aspects of packaging and label projects. Packaging projects will be at the corporate and brand level and have impact across multiple business units. The role requires excellent communication, organization and collaboration skills as they are often interacting directly with leaders across the business. Job responsibilities include high level project definition, development and planning, detailed project plan development and review, project progression tracking, problem resolution and project implementation.
Functions as the leader on packaging related projects across the portfolio. Coordinates resources, milestone schedules and related communication; responsible for delivery of assigned scope of work; responsible for leading an entire project or a major component of a project.
Negotiates packaging/label prices on a seasonal basis with approved suppliers. Tracks packaging commodity pricing to guide packaging and label price negotiations.
Manages packaging and label rebate programs.
Creates SOPs for brand and corporate packaging standards and socializes updates with brands.
Partners with legal and product integrity to keep packaging and labels in compliance with industry standards.
Manages multiple projects with medium complexity based on the packaging needs of the organization.
Participates in the selection and consolidation of materials suppliers, by working in partnership with Materials Manager. Collects and evaluates necessary supplier information to make informed recommendations.
Acts as a primary point of contact for assigned suppliers. Builds and maintains supplier relationships.
Develops clear communication and strong working relationships with development teams globally.
Performing duties consistent with the Company’s AAP/EEO goals and policies.
Performing other duties as required/assigned by manager.
Bachelor's degree required preferably in supply chain or packaging.
Minimum 3 years of applicable experience in sourcing or packaging management, preferably in the footwear or apparel industry.
Project management experience preferred, including leading long-term projects with over six months duration.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships cross-functionally at all levels of the organization and with external partners.
Ability to perform effectively in a rapidly changing environment.
Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Adobe, and Visio.
Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills; ability to operate as part of a team.
Normal office environment. Some travel may be required.
