The objective of the Student Programs at Nexteer Automotive is to select students with high potential and provide them with "real world" work experiences. Work assignments expose students to many of the company’s products, processes, procedures, problems, resources, staff areas and people so that they become aware of the career opportunities at Nexteer Automotive. Assignments are designed to assimilate acquired classroom education with actual hands-on work experience in a technical environment. In addition, Nexteer Automotive gains the opportunity to find new talent to enhance productivity.

This position will allow the Student to assist the quality department with day-to-day operations. Student would assist with supporting various group activities along with leading key plant improvement meetings. Student will also be involved in quality improvement projects as well as Gage activities. Student would be asked to complete other miscellaneous tasks as they arise. In this position, the Student will have the opportunity to work with upper-level management and enhance their leadership skills.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead FAST Response Process within the plant

  • Manage invoicing/payment for departmental expenses.

  • Lead customer warranty investigations

  • Assist supervisor in any administrative work


  • Candidate must be attending local university or Delta College

  • Candidate must be studying pursuing degree in Engineering or Business

  • Candidate must be able to work 20-32 hours during Fall and Winter semesters

  • Up to 40 in the summer

  • Must have cumulative 3.0 GPA

  • Must be a full-time student (12 or more credits)

  • Candidate must have right to work in the US and not require current or future sponsorship
