The objective of the Student Programs at Nexteer Automotive is to select students with high potential and provide them with "real world" work experiences. Work assignments expose students to many of the company’s products, processes, procedures, problems, resources, staff areas and people so that they become aware of the career opportunities at Nexteer Automotive. Assignments are designed to assimilate acquired classroom education with actual hands-on work experience in a technical environment. In addition, Nexteer Automotive gains the opportunity to find new talent to enhance productivity.
Nexteer Automotive has an opening for this position in the R&D Group located in Saginaw, MI. We are looking for an inquisitive, highly self-motivated individual who is eager to learn and has good attention to detail and time management skills. Special Skill Requirements: Proficient with MS office, computer savvy, and ability to do hands on work.
Acquire, build, and test prototype parts i.e. electric motors, sensors, controllers, circuit boards and wire harnesses.
Perform electrical tests involving any combination of electric motors, sensor, controllers, etc.
Assisting engineers with project duties.
Strong desire to learn new skills
Must be enrolled at a SVSU or Delta College
If attending SVSU, must enroll in SVSU Co-op Program through Cardinal Career Network
Must be pursuing degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
Ability to work 20 - 32 hours per week during the school year
ability to work up to 40 hours per week in the summer
Must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA: 2.7 on a 4.0 scale
Must maintain full time credits (12 credit hours) fall and winter semesters
Must be able to lift 25+ lbs of lab equipment
Good communication and computer skills
Must have the right to work in the US and not require current or future sponsorship
