Job Description

Volt is seeking an experienced CNC Mill Machinist to support our Missile Products Division in our Keyser WV facility in this direct hire opportunity.

The company is the world’s leading supplier of solid rocket motors, a leading provider of launch vehicles, satellites and other space systems, and the nation’s largest manufacturer of ammunition.

We are offering a $5000 sign-on bonus for any future employee after their first 90 days, and we welcome relocating candidates.

Scope of Work : Perform routine production line tasks with minimal supervision in the functional area of machining. Must maintain high quality through application of the most effective machining techniques, including explicitly following all procedures and set-up sheets.

Duties :

Could include, but may not be limited to, the following:

  • Set-up CNC Mills

  • Run production in accordance with written work instructions

  • Instruct operators

  • Inspect parts

  • Collect, measure and enter dimensional data using SPC

  • Identify non-conforming material and notify Supervision immediately

  • Document production output as directed by Supervision

  • Change offsets as required to maintain process capability

Technology Knowledge:

  • Must have thorough understanding and be able to demonstrate such in the following:

  • Shop mathematics

  • Tooling

  • G and M code CNC Programming

  • CNC controls

  • Geometric tolerancing

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a CNC Mill Machinist.

  • Essential reading skills required.
