Chassix Finishing Operator in Stevensville, Michigan
This position is for Second Shift, hours are 4:00 PM- 2:30 AM
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY
Individual will visually inspect parts prior to manually filing and removing flash or processing through the trim press. Responsibilities will include manually filing the part after applying stamp after completion of the x-ray procedure. Responsible for physically placing the casting in the trim die nest to be trimmed and physically removing the casting when the auto-trim method is to be used.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Responsibilities included but are not limited to:
Monitor equipment in your area of responsibility for adverse conditions and advise supervision of these conditions
Promote and maintain high productivity levels within your area of responsibility
Complete necessary record keeping in an accurate and timely manner
Maintain effective communication with peers and supervisors
Visually inspect parts for cast defects
Load x-ray line by physically placing parts
Manually filing and manually removing flash when the trim press is not operable; require a constant flow of castings in the product flow
Remove any debris from trim nests every cycle of operation
Physically place castings in the trim die nest
Ensure the operator loading the other trim die’s within the trim press are ready for press to cycle
Physically remove the castings from the next and examine the trimmed parting line to ensure that the flash was removed
Manually remove any flash not removed by the trim die, prior to the saw operation
Physically place the trimmed and de-flashed casting into the saw fixture
Physically remove casting from fixture
Visually inspect saw cut every cycle
Complies with the following OSHA Safety Standards: Hazard Communication; Bloodborne Pathogens; Lockout; Permit Required Confined Space; Hot Work Permit; Powered Industrial Trucks; P.P.E. and Ergonomics
When necessary, participate in classes and training seminars to learn new technologies and techniques deemed helpful to performance on the job
Monitor equipment in your area of responsibility for adverse conditions and advise supervision of these conditions
Promote and maintain high productivity levels within your area of responsibility
Complete necessary record keeping in an accurate and timely manner
Maintain effective communication with peers and supervisor
Perform other duties as assigned in the ultimate support of manufacturing and the Company goals

Moving, carrying and lifting objects in excess of 40 lbs
Repetitive lifting of objects over 5 lbs.
Repetitive manual movements and placement of parts 8lbs – 50lbs
Sustained visual concentration on small areas, such as monitors, screens or numbers, legal documents
Precise eye/hand coordination
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Preferred
High School Diploma or equivalent
Basic computer skills
